Circulatory disorders

The causes of circulatory disorders are, in 80% of cases, calcification of the blood vessels (atherosclerosis), which can initially lead to narrowing of the vessel (stenosis) and later to complete blockage of the vessel. Other causes may include: blood clots (thromboembolism), aneurysms, injuries resulting from medical procedures such as cardiac catheterization, or injuries caused by accidents.

Risk factors for the development of vascular calcification include: smoking, high blood pressure, lipid metabolism disorders, elevated blood sugar, and genetic factors.

Color ultrasound can visualize blood flow in vessels and changes in vessel walls. Depending on the examination findings, further examinations, such as vascular imaging with contrast agents, are initiated, and a treatment plan is developed. This includes conservative therapies with gait training, smoking cessation, intravenous Prostavasin therapy, or an intervention with a balloon or stent, or open surgery involving local removal of the cause of the blockage, up to bypass surgery.

In our practice, we offer you the complete spectrum of vascular medicine in prevention, diagnostics, therapy, and aftercare. Our aim is to treat you at the highest medical level. We value friendly and humane interaction with our patients, so that you will feel completely comfortable and competently cared for.
