Diabetic foot

The diabetic foot „DFS“ is a complication of diabetes. A characteristic symptom of this condition is poorly healing wounds. These can reach down to the bone and, under certain circumstances, result in amputation.

Due to impaired circulation, ulcers and skin changes can occur, which can extend down to the bone. The risk of bone instability and fracture of the foot bone under normal load is therefore high.

The causes are due on the one hand to circulatory disturbances, as well as to the development of neuropathies. The damage to the nerve tissue disrupts pain conduction, and the affected person can no longer perceive pain. This results in a wound that heals poorly, thus forming a site of infection.

Preventive measures to reduce risk include: avoiding extreme heat, podiatric foot care, timely treatment of calluses, drying between the toes, wearing shoes that are not too tight and have soft soles.

In our practice, we offer you the complete spectrum of vascular medicine in prevention, diagnostics, therapy, and aftercare. Our aim is to treat you at the highest medical level. We value friendly and humane interaction with our patients, so that you will feel completely comfortable and competently cared for.
